In this Love Songs of Samoa, Paul combines some of the old styles of Samoan piano playing with those of such piano masters as Schumann, Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven and Liszt.

Paul’s interpretation of the Samoan love song La’u Lupe ua Lele expresses the pain of lost love. The rapid chromatic lines, accented by dissonant chords reflect the sorrow experienced at the passing of a loved one.

The rest of the love songs, naturally, are lighthearted.
